About this machine
What it is and what it is good for.
Heavy centre lathe built by 1 Mai, Romania. Turning Ø 1 250 mm over the bedways and Ø 920 mm over the cross-slide, with 6 000 mm between centres and a workpiece of up to 10 000 kg between centres when using a steady rest.
The main spindle runs from 4 to 430 rpm, driven by a 22 kW motor. The bed measures 700 mm between guideways, 770 mm over the guideways and 830 mm at the base. Machine weight 16 700 kg.
