What it is and what it is good for.
A 3662 semi-automatic hob sharpening machine from VIZAS in Vitebsk, the works that has built sharpening machines since 1940 and is still the only maker of them in the former Soviet Union. It grinds the front faces of hob teeth, both for first sharpening and for regrinding, on hobs from Ø 50 to Ø 125 mm and 50 to 200 mm long.
It takes bore type and shank type hobs with straight or helical flutes, right or left hand. Table travel, indexing and infeed are all hydraulic; the table runs from 2 to 10 m/min and the infeed is 0.004 to 0.05 mm per revolution of the hob. The copying ruler swivels ± 21° for helical flutes and the column angle reads to one arc minute.
One feature worth knowing about: once the set amount of metal has been ground off the tooth face, the machine switches the infeed off by itself and lights a signal. It was designed that way so one man could run several machines at once, and it still means the operator is not tied to it.
€ 1 500. Note the capacity: this machine is for small and medium hobs up to Ø 125 mm. For further photographs and delivery terms, send us an enquiry.
