About this machine
What it is and what it is good for.
A POREBA TZB-250A heavy duty facing lathe — a machine built for one job in particular: turning and facing large diameter discs, flanges, wheels and rings that will not fit on a normal centre lathe.
It takes Ø 3 200 mm in diameter, Ø 2 500 mm over the bed, on a face plate of Ø 2 000 mm, with a workpiece of up to 4 tonnes. The spindle turns from 0.5 to 100 rpm and is driven by a 55 kW main motor — the slow end of that range, combined with that power, is what lets it take a real cut on a large diameter. Two independent tool carriages allow two cuts at once or roughing and finishing in one setup.
The machine weighs 30 tonnes and is offered as it stands. We can also repair it completely before delivery; tell us what you need and we quote the scope separately.
