About this machine
What it is and what it is good for.
A twin spindle CNC turning centre built by CNC-Takang in Taichung, Taiwan, in July 2012 and controlled by a Fanuc 0i-TD. The slant bed carries a 12-station servo turret and two opposed spindles, so a part can be turned on both ends in a single setup — the sub spindle takes the workpiece from the main spindle and finishes the back face without a second operation.
The main spindle runs from 42 to 4 200 rpm with an A2-6 nose, Ø 61 mm bore, Ø 51 mm bar capacity and an 8″ hydraulic chuck, driven by a 9 / 11 kW Fanuc motor. The sub spindle runs to 6 000 rpm with a 6″ chuck and 500 mm of stroke. It swings Ø 650 mm over the bed and machines up to Ø 490 mm.
Rapid traverse is 20 m/min on both axes and the turret indexes in 0.2 seconds. Machine weight 7 030 kg. It needs a 400 V, 40 kVA supply and 6 bar of compressed air.
