About this machine

What it is and what it is good for.

A CFL 2000 free forging hammer — an open die hammer for smith work rather than die forging. The falling part weighs 2 000 daN and delivers 5 000 daNm of impact energy over a 1 200 mm working stroke, on an anvil surface of 530 × 290 mm.

It takes a blank of 400 × 400 mm in carbon steel or 300 × 300 mm in alloy steel, and runs on steam at 6 – 8 daN/cm² or hot air at 5 – 7 daN/cm².

Overall it measures 4 460 × 2 080 × 5 660 mm and weighs 51 500 kg. We also have the larger CFL 3150 of the same family in stock.
