About this machine
What it is and what it is good for.
A Y3180H vertical gear hobbing machine working by successive indexing, for gears up to Ø 800 mm in module 10 and 300 mm wide, on a Ø 650 mm table. The hob can be up to Ø 180 mm and the main drive is 5.5 kW.
It is not only for spur and helical gears: the machine also cuts worm wheels, chain wheels and short spline shafts, which makes it a sensible single machine for a shop that does varied gear work rather than one product. It will cut in climb or conventional milling, and comes with an automatic stop mechanism, a safety device and automatic lubrication.
The Y3180H is still in production and new machines of this model list at over USD 10 000. At € 5 000 this one costs about half. It weighs 5 500 kg and fits in 2 752 × 1 490 mm of floor space.
