What it is and what it is good for.
A 16 MN hydraulic trimming press for forging lines, pressing downward with a single force step of 16 MN. The moving crosshead has a working surface of 2 000 × 2 400 mm and strokes up to 700 mm, with daylight between crosshead and table from 700 to 1 400 mm.
The crosshead approaches at 200 mm/s, trims at up to 50 mm/s and returns at 250 mm/s with 1.7 MN of return force. Nominal working pressure is 320 bar, and the press runs on water emulsion rather than oil — worth knowing when you plan the hydraulic supply.
The crosshead is guided on four columns through slides, and the press takes its full nominal force with the load up to 500 mm off-centre on either side. That matters when you trim several parts on one die, or a part that is not symmetrical. A cushion cylinder with 125 mm of stroke is built in, and tools clamp to T-slots on both crosshead and table.
Next to the 1000 t mechanical trimming press we also have in stock, this is the larger and more flexible machine: a bigger table, a longer stroke, and full force at any point of the stroke rather than only at the bottom. Together with the two CFL free forging hammers, the presses make up most of a forging line.
The press stands about 8 m above floor. Send us an enquiry for further photographs, the weight, foundation drawings and delivery terms.
