About this machine
What it is and what it is good for.
A Pegard rotary table measuring 3 200 × 2 400 mm, built in Belgium, with 5 000 mm of longitudinal travel by rack and pinion and a loading capacity of 40 tonnes.
Rotation is driven by two pinions rather than one. That is the detail worth paying for: a second pinion takes up the backlash in the gear ring, which is what keeps a heavy table indexing accurately after years of use.
A table of this size and capacity is harder to find than the boring mill it works with. If you have a floor type machine without a table, or one whose table is worn out, this is the part that makes it useful again. Table weight 36 tonnes.
